Z Club of North Park Secures 3rd Place in 2019 Emma L. Conlon Service Award

The North Park Z Club is sponsored by the ZC of Bampton-Caledon.

“Numerous events were organized this year in celebration of 16 Days of Activism.  We held a Henna Fundraiser, collected hygiene products for a Women’s Shelter drive, and held a White Ribbon photo booth to commemorate the Montreal Massacre.  Through Zonta International’s goal of service and advocacy, we raised initiatives to inform the school on gender-based violence.  We used informative daily announcements paired with social media to promote the events to our school.  All $183.40 from the henna event went to our international cause, ending child marriage.  We collected 187 hygiene and $85 in donations, used to purchase items for Interim Place.  On December 6^th, our White Ribbon initiative informed North Park of the massacre, encouraging the community to take photos and sign the pledge.  Because of this, students were educated about gender inequalities and can now focus on restoring a balance.  We ensured 100% of the club was involved.
