Two dynamic groups met recently at Davidson’s Restaurant in Lakewood.  The Breast Cancer Support Group of Jamestown presented Zonta members with a $1000 check to support one of their service projects, Lily’s Hope.

“The Breast Cancer Support Group of Jamestown has been in existence for 30 years”, states the founder Pat Carr. “The purpose of our group is to provide support for those going through breast cancer and their loved ones. Membership is not limited to cancer victims, anyone can join.”  The group has been very active raising and donating large sums of money to support men and women with breast cancer locally in the Jamestown area. Lily’s Hope is one of the projects which has received their generous donations.

Lily’s Hope has been helping Chautauqua County women experiencing hair loss due to a medical diagnosis or treatment for the past nine years.   At Lily’s Hope, women can receive a free wig, cap, hat or other accessories as available. Zonta Club will utilize the donation toward more new wigs and medical accessories.

Lily’s Hope is located at the Jones Memorial Health Center, 51 Glasgow Avenue in Jamestown. To arrange for an appointment to meet with a Lily’s Hope volunteer to choose an item, please call UPMC Chautauqua WCA Cancer Treatment Center at (716) 487-0141.  A Zonta volunteer will coordinate with the client individually to meet their needs.
